The object of the society shall be to promote and foster, within North Wales, the breeding, training and improvement of sheepdogs, thus securing the better management of sheep stock on hill and lowland farms. Education, meetings and trials furthers the knowledge and appreciation of sheepdogs and sheep farming. Membership of the society is open to anyone in agreement with the Society’s objective.
The annual subscription (1st January) is currently £15 for individuals and £15 for affiliated trials (for inclusion in the annual diary and sheep insurance) plus £15 for compulsory Public Liability insurance for affiliated trials unless already insured. If so, a copy of the insurance certificate should be sent to the Secretary each year.
In addition to supporting the work of the Society, members are able to enter NWSDS trials and receive an annual diary providing full details of all affiliated trials. Subscriptions in particular help to meet the costs of the Secretary / Treasurer post, website and social media.
Details of each trial are also publicised on this website two weeks prior to the date of the trial.
