Society (Charity) Objects
The promotion of agriculture, for the public benefit, in particular but not exclusively by:
- Promoting responsible working sheepdog ownership, breeding and training.
- Promoting matters pertaining to dog welfare in general.
- Improving the working standard of working sheepdogs by organising and promoting open and members only sheepdog trials.
The annual subscription (due each year on the 1st January) is currently £25 for individuals (£30 non UK) and £15 for Affiliated Trials Societies (for promotion and sheep insurance) plus £15 for compulsory Public Liability / Employer’s Liability and Equipment insurance unless already insured as part of an agricultural show.
Members upon reaching the age of 80 receive free life membership (please notify).
In addition to supporting the work of the Society, members receive an annual diary providing full details of all affiliated trials are also able to enter NWSDS trials. Membership also contributes to meeting the costs of the Secretary / Treasurer post, administering the charity, the results service, website and social media posts.
